Schroff Development Corporation is a
software and publishing company founded in 1988. SDC began with
the goal of improving the computer-aided design market through the
development of three-dimensional design software based on the more
realistic and functional tools provided by a system based on solid
modeling.
SilverScreen, our flagship software product,
functions as a standalone solid modeling software product in addition
to serving as a development platform on which application products
can be constructed. The development platform, referred to as the
SilverScreen CAD Engine, provides a powerful set of tools
that allows 
programmers
to create custom applications through the construction and manipulation
of solid models. The CAD Engine is designed to offer a flexible
development environment that meets the product and skill level of
the developer. This product currently serves as the CAD and graphics
engine for a variety of products requiring fast execution and the
ability to handle extremely large models. Products developed using
the CAD Engine range from political and demographic maps to 3D designs
of residential homes where each construction member is detailed.
SDC has provided many companies with assistance in the initial
development of their products. This assistance, in conjunction with
the goal of making the SilverScreen CAD Engine match the needs and
capabilities of the user, provides a development environment that
allows an application to quickly reach its market.
Our book and software publishing business was developed in response
to the need for up-to-date, economical, and effective materials
to support the computer-aided design market. We provide published
materials focusing on computer-aided design and related software
for professional and academic markets. Our books and CD-ROMs, which
are available for most major computer-aided design software packages,
have been widely adopted for use by major universities and training
